Now and Then

Many TV shows make it on silver screen, and aparently most of them became a huge success in the movie industry. This proves that even a tv series is gone for a long time it still catch the attention of of its avid viewers. I would name a few for that series that gives an impact socially in TV and in big screen. I'll start with the Transformers the latest TV adaptation to be brought to big screen

After the Federal Communications Commission did away with regulations that prohibited toy companies from broadcasting cartoons based on their products in 1984, The Transformers began with a three-episode miniseries (later titled More Than Meets the Eye) that introduced audiences to Optimus Prime, Megatron and their armies, as they travelled from the metal world of Cybertron to Earth in search of new sources of energy. The final episode ended on an open note, should the series prove popular enough to continue, which it did. A standard season's worth of 13 more episodes were commissioned, expanding the Transformers universe in which the Dinobots, Constructicons and Jetfire (the latter called Skyfire in the series) made their debut. With popularity rising, the second season soon followed in 1985 at a mammoth 49 episodes (in order to bring the total up to 65, for syndication). Dozens of new characters were introduced throughout the season, including the Triple Changers, the combining teams the Aerialbots, Stunticons, Combaticons and Protectobots, and more new Autobot cars and Decepticon planes, while many new ideas and concepts began to establish the history of the cartoon universe.

That's the Transformer then..and here it is now, the Transformers is a 2007 live action film directed by Michael Bay and executive produced by Steven Spielberg, based on the Transformers franchise. The film begins with Optimus Prime explaining Cybertron's destruction at the hands of Megatron, and his quest to obtain the Allspark. Megatron discovers the Allspark on Earth, but crash-lands in the Arctic Circle, becoming frozen in the ice. Captain Archibald Witwicky and his crew of explorers stumble upon Megatron's body in 1897. Megatron's navigational system is unintentionally activated, and Archibald's eye glasses are imprinted with the coordinates to the Allspark's location. Sector 7, a secret organization of the United States government, discovers the Allspark and builds the Hoover Dam around it to mask the energy signal. The still-frozen Megatron is moved into this facility, and is reverse engineered to further advance human technology.

This movie is some of the many TV adaptation to be shown in the big screen and most of it has become a blockbuster hit. And filmmakers, did a great job converting this TV series to the big screens. But somehow Filmmakers twist the original story of the TV series and make a whole new plot. The same Character but somehow different from the original. Well i guess that's how they manage to create great movies like these, some of this TV adaptation has a sequel, just like the Mission Impossible that bring us 3 movies.

Mission Impossible is an action adventure and drama series which aired on the CBS Network at Saturday 9:00pm in all part of the United States. It premiered on September 17, 1966 to March 30, 1973 as 60 minutes TV series. On the second season, ABC Network aired this series from 1988 to 1990 where they returned to television. The people behind this successful TV series are Max Hodge and Reza Badiyi, as the directors while Allan Balter and William Read Woodfield, credited as the writers.

The story was about Jim Phelps, as the team leader of the agency called Impossible Mission Task force (IMF). These government agencies is a top secret agency, He often given secret missions and choose his teammates depending on the task they have done. The missions are not simple as that, most of the time they relies on using high technology equipments, materials and must done in secret.

That's then, here it is now..

Based off of a hit T.V. series. Jim Phelps was sent to Prague for a mission. That mission is to find a traitor. His wife, Claire and his trusted partner, Ethan Hunt were members of Phelps' team. Unfortunately, something went horribly wrong and the mission failed, ironically Ethan Hunt was the lone survivor. After he reported the failed mission, Kettrige the head if the agency suspects Ethan of being the culprit for the failed mission. Now, Ethan uses unorthodox methods (Which includes the aid of an arms dealer going by the name "Max") to try to find who set him up and to clear his name.

Movie based on the television series finds Jim Phelps and his team charged with stopping a traitor from stealing and selling classified material. Everything was going well until the man they are following and all of the team are inexplicably killed except for Ethan Hunt. Ethan then calls the Director and goes to meet him when he discovers that the whole mission was to ferret a mole that they have been suspicious of for some time. The Director shows evidence that hints that Ethan's the one they have been looking for but Ethan knows that he is not, so he escapes. Ethan then arranges to meet the buyer and whom he warns against using the material he has and when they meet he offers to get what he paid for in exchange for telling whom the mole is. Ethan, along with Phelps' wife Claire recruits two disavowed agents to help him which won't be easy

TV series, making it to the big screen gives us a whole new view to series we watched. And lets wait for another TV series that will make it to the big screen, as of now the latest TV adaptation that will hit the big screen is The Simpsons. This is "20 years" in the making, i guess is worth a wait
